The client — a multi-specialty hospital group — had grown rapidly through acquisitions. Each clinic ran its own software: one used an on-premise EMR from 2009, another used a cloud EHR from a different vendor, and the rest used a mix of Excel and WhatsApp. Sharing patient records between clinics required manual exports, phone calls, and physical file transfers.
Insurance claim rejections were running at 18% — nearly triple the industry benchmark — because claim data was being re-entered manually at each touchpoint, introducing errors. The compliance team was operating on prayer.
We designed HealthBridge as a single unified platform covering patient registration, scheduling, EMR, billing, and insurance claim management — with real-time data sync across all 12 locations.
The architecture uses a centralized MongoDB cluster with clinic-level data partitioning, ensuring that a patient seen at Clinic 3 has their complete record instantly available at Clinic 7. We implemented HL7 FHIR-compliant APIs for interoperability with existing lab and pharmacy systems.
For compliance, we built immutable audit trails on all patient data operations, role-based access control down to the field level, and automated PHI redaction in logs.
